The ’Wild Reindeer Hunting as World Heritage’ project wished to meet Ms Sørensen in order to give her first-hand information about the project and the academic work underlying it. Ms Sørensen showed great personal interest in the topic and not least in wild reindeer as a climate barometer. In point of fact, wild reindeer came to Norway as a consequence of climatic change – the end of the Ice Age - and now we risk seeing them disappear again as a consequence of changes in our climate.
Ms Sørensen promised to follow up the matter. |
